I have taught History and Geography at 7th and 8th grade levels for 15 years in a small school in southeastern Oklahoma ,USA. The only person on your list that is listed in our books is Mercator. There's a paragraph in our geography book and a brief mention in our history book. Of course we teach the Mercator map projection in our class. Good Luck with your research--Rowletta Anderson Fact Listed in Book: Glencoe Geography, copyright 1995, teacher's edition, page 16, "Did you Know Fact Box--Flemish map maker,Geradus Mercator created his well known projection in 1569."

Dear students and teachers, You have a very interesting project going. I applaud you efforts. I teach Art History to 12th graders - the top level of high school. I acquaint the students with Pieter Bruegel, Pieter Paul Rubens, Dirk Bouts, and Jan Van Eyck on your list. In addition, we study Rogier van der Weyden, Petrus Christus, Hugo van der Goes, Hans Memling, Hubert van Eyck, and Hieronymus Bosch.

As a teacher of visual arts, I cover some of the more famous Flemish artists. I have covered Pieter Breughel the Elder, Jan van Eyck, and Pieter Paul Rubens in my classes.

Sorry that I'm unable to scan in any textbook pages...we don't have access to that technology in our building. However, I have included the textbook name and author if you can use it.
